According to sources, all 12 European Super League teams will meet tonight to discuss the possibility of disbanding the competition.
Chelsea is the first Premier League side to withdraw from the European Super League, according to rumours that the club was ‘preparing paperwork for withdrawal.’
Following Chelsea’s lead, Manchester City and Atletico Madrid are now preparing to leave the tumultuous Premier League.
According to talkSPORT, the 12 Super League teams will take part in a meeting tonight to discuss the future of the club competition.
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez had previously issued a warning to clubs involved in The Super League, saying the contract was “binding.”
The Super League chairman told El Chiringuito: “The contract of the Super League is binding. Nobody can leave; we will work altogether.
“All the clubs signed the contracts last Saturday — there’s no problem.”
