Chelsea will begin their 2021/22 Premier League season with the unenviable task of facing THREE of the ‘big six’ away from home in their opening six matches.
The Premier League have released the fixtures for next season and Thomas Tuchel has been dealt a brutal hand.
After the Blues host Crystal Palace in their first game of the new campaign, Tuchel takes his team to Arsenal then Liverpool in back-to-back away games.
Then it’s Aston Villa at home before being back on the road to battle Tottenham. They round off September with a juggernaut clash against league champions Manchester City at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea’s first six matches of the 2021/22 Premier League season:
Saturday, August 14: Crystal Palace (H)
Saturday, August 21: Arsenal (A)
Saturday, August 28: Liverpool (A)
Saturday, September 11: Aston Villa (H)
Saturday, September 18: Tottenham (A)

Needless to say, Chelsea’s nightmare opening fixtures got fans talking online.
One tweeted: “3 away games vs the ‘big 6’ in the first 5 games and the Man City at home…”
A second tweeted: “Crazy first 6 fixtures…. Chelsea always playing on nightmare mode…”
A third added: “If we manage to be in the top four after match day 7 we are winning the league hands down.”
A fourth commented: “Tough start but it’s better to get the harder games out of the way earlier in the season.”
