England Set To Play 3-4-3 Formation Against Germany, With Bukayo Saka In Attack

England are set to play a 3-4-3 formation against Germany, with Bukayo Saka in line to start following his superb outing against Czech Republic.

The Three Lions face old rivals Germany in the last-16 of Euro 2020 tonight.

And Gareth Southgate will continue to ring the changes ahead of their crunch knockout match at Wembley Stadium.

According to the Athletic, Saka will keep his place in the team after producing a ‘Man of the Match’ performance in England’s last game, while Jack Grealish will be DROPPED.

It is claimed that the 19-year-old will join Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane in a three-man attack.

A back five is a real possibility, with England operating with wing-backs to nullify Germany’s threat.

The report also states that Mason Mount, Phil Foden and the aforementioned Grealish will all be named on the BENCH.

Grealish was handed his first start of the tournament against Czech Republic, with the Aston Villa star creating the only goal of the game.

Mount started England’s opening two matches, but was unable to play in the win over Czech Republic due to Covid-19 quarantine regulations.

As for Foden, he also played the first two games, though didn’t feature against Czech Republic with Southgate wary of his yellow card.

Southgate hailed the Arsenal winger’s ‘exceptional’ showing last Tuesday, showering him with praise in a glowing review.

He said: “We had a really good feeling about Bukayo since the first day he trained with us in this period. In every period he’s been with us he’s impressed us.

“He’s a totally reliable player, for a young player it’s an exceptional quality. His ability to receive under pressure was really important to get us through the thirds of the pitch.

“He did that for the run for the goal. Super cross from Jack and great to see Raheem scoring again.

“I thought Bukayo was the real standout performance.

“We played him in the position we did, partly because of his work off the ball is so good. His angles of approach are good. I know his club have worked a lot with him on that.

“It speaks volumes that his club have trusted him for the umber of games they have when it was difficult for them.

“Given we were defending more in a 4-4-2, you need your wingers to do a good job and him and Raheem did.

“His ability to go inside and outside, because he’s equally comfortable on either foot, I thought it was a really promising performance from him.”
