Manchester City Set To Offer Two Stars For Harry Kane

Pep Guardiola is ready to lose two of his Premier League winning players as Manchester City look to push ahead of Manchester United and Chelsea for Harry Kane.

Kane told Tottenham Hotspur just two weeks ago and wants to stay in the Premier League. That left City, United as Chelsea as his most likely destinations.

Whilst the England captain has been urged not to join City, Guardiola’s side are favourites to sign him and the striker even named Kevin de Bruyne as his ‘dream teammate.’

On Monday it was reported that up to eight players could leave City this summer, despite winning the league quite comfortably, and two of them could be used in a move for Kane.

According to the Sun, Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus could both be used as part of the deal, to entice Daniel Levy to bring down his huge asking price.

Whilst any deal to sell Kane would offer a huge cash boost for Spurs, replacing him would not come cheap and clubs would know they had money to burn.

An offer of two forwards as part of the deal would cut down on that need and allow the news manager at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium to spend the funds in other areas of the pitch.

Sterling scored 10 goals in the league this season and started the Champions League final on Saturday, but his inclusion against Chelsea was a surprise after falling down the pecking order at the Etihad Stadium.

He started 28 times this season but his playing time reduced as Phil Foden’s place in the team grew and he’s scored only once since February.

Jesus started 22 times in the league this season, the most starts for the Brazilian in any season for City, but Kane’s introduction would certainly affect his game time, especially with the club also linked to Jack Grealish.

Tottenham might be hoping that they can still convince Kane to stay if they can bring Mauricio Pochettino back from PSG.

The former Spurs boss, who was sacked in 2019 and replaced by Jose Mourinho, is now the odds on favourite to return to north London.

He only took over from Thomas Tuchel in January but is reportedly not happy with life at the Parc des Princes, Real Madrid are also considering a move for him.

However it’s unlikely his arrival will leave Kane to reconsider his decision to leave the club after 17 years there.
