Paul Pogba Pulled The Strings For France With Dominating Midfield Masterclass Performance Against Portugal

Manchester United superstar Paul Pogba was at his scintillating best during France’s 2-2 draw with Portugal at Euro 2020.

On an extraordinary night of international football, there were twists and turns galore in Group F.

In the end, France progressed in top spot to face Switzerland in the knockout stages, but Pogba was the talk of social media after an incredible display.

The 28-year-old claimed an assist for France’s second with a delicious lofted through-ball to Karim Benzema. The goal was initially ruled out for offside but it was overturned by VAR.

“What a pass from Pogba,” said Alan Shearer on BBC Sport. “The weight of pass, the run. Everything about it was perfection. [Ruben] Dias is really slow on the turn but that is an excellent finish from Benzema.”

United midfielder Pogba’s overall display was one to behold with a range of passing that was out of this world.

Earlier in the match, he had played another incisive pass to Kylian Mbappe, who saw his shot saved by Rui Patricio.

Pogba even went close to winning it with a stunning long-range drive that was tipped onto a post by Patricio.

The 2018 World Cup winner touched the ball 104 times, the highest of any player on the pitch.
