Antoine Griezmann Could Head To The Premier League This Summer In Shock Loan Transfer

Antoine Griezmann could head to the Premier League this summer in a shock LOAN transfer amid uncertainty regarding his Barcelona future.

The Spanish giants are looking to reduce their hefty wage bill, with Griezmann thought to be on the chopping block ahead of the new season.

It has been claimed that the club will ask the Frenchman to leave if Lionel Messi signs a new contract at the Camp Nou.

Messi is currently a free agent, but is expected to put pen-to-paper to extend his stay in Catalonia.

So, Griezmann could be booted out of Barca, with a host of clubs interested in snapping him up.

From Manchester City to Manchester United. Not to mention Chelsea, who could swoop for the 30-year-old in a loan deal.

That’s according to the Daily Express who say Thomas Tuchel’s side are making plans to bring him to Stamford Bridge on a temporary basis.

The German boss is hoping to trim deadwood players to fund a potential mega signing.

While Griezmann is on an enormous wage package, a loan deal would see the Blues pay a percentage of his wage rather than the full payment.

Chelsea are also hoping Kurt Zouma can persuade his international teammate Griezmann to make the switch to west London.

On the whole, Griezmann has failed to impress since signing for Barca in 2019 for £107 million.

He struggled in his debut campaign before scoring 20 goals in all competitions last season.

Griezmann, though, was ultra-prolific at Atletico Madrid – scoring 133 goals during his five-year spell.

If an English club does indeed secure his services for next term, then they’ll be hoping he can tap into his scintillating Atleti form.
