Erling Haaland Finally Reacts To Close Friend Jadon Sancho Joining Manchester United

Erling Haaland has finally had his say on close friend Jadon Sancho leaving Borussia Dortmund for Manchester United.

United announced they’d finally agreed a £73 million deal with Dortmund for Sancho’s signature, following a long transfer saga.

He struck up a friendship on and off the pitch with Haaland and the Norway international couldn’t hide his disappointment in a chat with Stadium Astro.

“Me and Jadon understood each other very well and he’s a top player,” he begun.

“So of course it’s sad that he goes but that’s how it is and that’s football. You never know what will happen.

“But I think that there’s a lot of other good players that I have a good tone with and it can become even better.

“We have to see who I match the best with.”

Haaland and Sancho helped Dortmund to a third place finish in the Bundesliga last season as well as DFB-Pokal glory.

Between them, they scored 35 goals and 17 assists to help Dortmund secure Champions League football once again.

Next season will see Haaland work with Marco Rose, who arrives as manager off the back of a successful stint with Borussia Monchengladbach.

“I talked a little bit with him and I know him from before because I had him for six months at Salzburg,’ Haaland continued.

“He’s a nice guy and I look forward to working with him.

“I heard the training sessions are hard here so it’s exactly the same as it was at Salzburg. Hard training and a lot of running.

“That’s what I expect the tactics to be, to press a lot and run a lot and attack a lot.”

The 20-year-old continues to be linked with a big money move away and potential suitors this summer include Chelsea.

Sky Germany say Dortmund turned down Chelsea’s first offer last week, which included either Tammy Abraham or Callum Hudson-Odoi in part exchange.

Further reports claim Roman Abramovich has released £150 million for the Blues to use in a potential deal.

Dortmund are committed to keeping Haaland this summer however, having lost Sancho already.

Sebastian Kehl, head of first-team football, recently said: “I have also read about the sum, but for us nothing has changed on this matter. We are planning firmly with Erling, this has also been clearly communicated to him and his advisor.

“He wants to play football, he feels comfortable with us and is hungry to score many goals for us this season.”
