Jordan Pickford was seen saying “no problem” to himself before saving Jorginho’s penalty in incredible footage from last night’s penalty shootout in the Euro 2020 final.
Even though England lost to Italy on penalties, Pickford performed fantastically in the shootout, saving two including one which ended Jorginho’s 100 per cent record with his national team.
Getting told its save it or lose, replying “no problem” then saving a pen is absolute prime Pickford 👑 https://t.co/jbkvkWIwkP

Earlier in the shootout, the England goalkeeper had saved a penalty against the Torino striker Andrea Belotti which gave England the advantage.
Although, due to misses from Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, Jorginho had the opportunity to clinch Euro 2020 for the Azzurri.
However Pickford’s technique to reassure and calm himself for the penalty worked to perfection and made a world class save to keep England in the final.

Unfortunately for England, Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka was unable to score the fifth penalty which was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma and secured Italy’s first major trophy since their World Cup win in 2006.
Both Pickford and Donnarumma have been widely praised for their performances throughout the tournament with the Everton keeper ending it with the Golden Glove award.

Pickford ended the Euro 2020 with two more clean sheets than Donnarumma and impressively five overall against Croatia, Scotland, Czech Republic, Germany and Ukraine.
Earlier this month, Pickford had attributed his greater calmness and form due to the sports psychologist he had hired last year, he said: “Mitch is always available if you need to speak to him, I am in a good place but he is there if I need him.”
