Manchester City Make £100 Million Move For Jack Grealish

Manchester City have made their move for Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish, with a report claiming they’ve tabled a £100 million bid for the player.

Grealish has been linked with a move to City for several weeks now, as Pep Guardiola looks to strengthen his Premier League champions ahead of the new season.

Villa don’t want to sell their talisman but, according to the Telegraph, they have now been tested with a huge offer for the 25-year-old.

City’s £100 million offer would break the Premier League record transfer fee, which is currently Paul Pogba’s 2016 move to Manchester United from Juventus, which cost £89 million.

If the transfer does happen it would also smash City’s record signing, which is currently Ruben Dias’ £60 million move from Benfica last summer.

Grealish was on international duty with England this summer for Euro 2020 so he is yet to return to his club for pre season training.

He is due back on Monday and has been offered a new deal to stay in the west Midlands, and are eager to keep the player having planned to keep him at Villa Park beyond this summer.

Last year Grealish was strongly linked with a move to City’s rivals Manchester United, with Villa looking like they could be relegated back to the Championship. However once Villa stayed up, the forward stayed where he was.

City have also been heavily linked with a move for Grealish’s England teammate Harry Kane, with the Tottenham Hotspur striker keen on a move.

The Premier League’s top scorer from last season, who also won the award for most assists, is reportedly available for £160 million.

A move for Grealish doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the Kane saga but clearly Guardiola is getting frustrated at not being able to sign the Spurs forward.
