Lionel Messi And Sergio Ramos Have Had Their First Conversation As Teammates

Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos have had their first conversation as PSG teammates, after years as bitter rivals for Barcelona and Real Madrid.

Messi and Ramos have both played in 45 Clasicos against each other and would have been in direct competition with each other in many of those.

Whilst Messi is the game’s leading scorer of all time, Ramos got his own victories, including when the pair met last October in La Liga.

Now the pair have to put all that in the past though, as they’re teammates at PSG, with both of them moving to Ligue 1 after their contracts in Spain ended.

The duo have already shared what looks to be a pretty cordial phone call, so it seems we won’t be seeing a repeat of their clashes.

Speaking to TNT Sports last month, Ramos said he was looking forward to playing with Messi. “I like to play with the best players and Messi has been one of the best in the world.

“I have always said that Messi will always have a role in my team.”

Both Messi and Ramos are used to being captain at their clubs but they now have to accept that Marquinhos is the man wearing the armband at the Parc des Princes.

Ramos, who’d been at the Bernabeu since 2005 before leaving for the French capital at the end of his contract, clearly forgot the armband was no longer there when he first arrived.

The World Cup winner had an emotional moment looking down at his sleeve when he realised that he no longer wears the additional piece of kit.

PSG kicked off their league season last weekend but Ramos wasn’t involved as they beat Troyes 2-1, with all three goals coming in the first 21 minutes.

The 35-year-old is currently out injured and he is hoping to back fit by the end of the month, though reports in France claim that he could be out for two months.

At least when he’s back he won’t have to come up against Messi.
