Romelu Lukaku Once Visited Chelsea As A Kid In A Drogba Shirt And Declared ‘One Day I’ll Play Here’

Old footage has reemerged on social media this week which shows a young Romelu Lukaku visiting Stamford Bridge where he claims that “I will play here”.

The West London club have recently re-signed the player seven years after his departure for £97.5 million from Inter Milan to bolster their attacking lineup.

The Belgian forward has had a wonderful two years with Inter where he scored many goals and helped bring the Serie A back to Milan.

However, footage from when Lukaku was a youngster shows his admiration for Chelsea and particularly for their club legend Didier Drogba as he wears his shirt whilst staring at the Stamford Bridge pitch.

In the clip, he said: “I have to sit alone here, I have to enjoy this moment on my own.

“One day I’ll play here, you’ll see. The day I play here is the only day you’ll see me cry at home. Other than that, never. Only when I play here.”

During Lukaku’s first spell for the club, he was only able to make 15 senior appearances and spent vast amounts of time on loan at West Bromwich Albion and Everton.

Many Chelsea fans are now saying that he has unfinished business in West London and pundits from across the country are now suggesting that this signing can help challenge Manchester City for the Premier League title.

On the FIVE Youtube channel, Rio Ferdinand recently spoke about the immediate impact Lukaku will have with Chelsea: “Romelu Lukaku guarantees you 20 goals, minimum. He guarantees you that. He’s scored goals wherever he’s been, he’s an elite goalscorer, it’s as simple as that.”
