Romelu Lukaku is set to return to Chelsea, seven years after leaving the club, after the Blues agreed a £97.5 million fee with Inter Milan.
Chelsea have been desperate to sign a striker all summer, with Harry Kane, Robert Lewandowski and, particularly, Erling Haaland all on their list of targets.
Now it looks like Lukaku, who played 15 times for the Premier League side between 2011 and 2014, will be their new striker.
According to the Athletic, the European champions have agreed a fee for the Belgian striker with Inter, with the player already interested in the move.

He is expected to sign a five-year contract, earning himself around £195,000-per-week after tax, which will make him the club’s highest earner.
The west London club hope to have the move sorted by Sunday evening, giving the player time to train with the team ahead of their Premier League opener next weekend, and he could even be available for the UEFA Super Cup against Villarreal on Wednesday.
Initially it was thought that the former Manchester United striker was happy in Italy, having moved there in 2019, and was ready to stay at Inter despite the club’s financial problems.
However the allure of returning to Stamford Bridge, where he was targeted by Antonio Conte before United signed him, has been too much.

Despite winning the Champions League, the Blues top scorer in the league in their previous campaign was Jorginho, with his seven goals all coming from the penalty spot. Timo Werner, who was signed last summer from RB Leipzig, failed to get going and only registered six league goals in his debut season.
