Fan Waits Outside Training Ground From 6am To Meet Cristiano Ronaldo, It Doesn’t Go To Plan

A devoted Manchester United supporter waited for hours outside Carrington training ground to try and get a picture with new signing Cristiano Ronaldo and well, it didn’t exactly go to plan for the superfan.

Ali Masood, from Blackburn, arrived at United’s training base at around 6am after taking a taxi in the early hours of Wednesday morning and, after spending a number of hours outside the complex, Ali was spotted by a Sky Sports reporter.

Wearing a t-shirt with selfies of Ronaldo’s family sketched on the front, Ali was desperate to meet his hero. “I’m gonna see Ronaldo,” he beamed. “I want to take a selfie with him. He’s an amazing guy. I think he’s going to make it in the Premier League this year.”

Later on in the interview, Ali said he was “definitely” going to get his photograph with the five-time Ballon d’Or winner but, as you can see in the footage below, Ronaldo greets those outside Carrington with a wave before speeding off in his Lamborghini.

Ali was then filmed chasing down the car with his arms raised. You’ve got to feel for the lad.

Ronaldo, meanwhile, is likely to make his debut against Newcastle on Saturday afternoon after taking part in his first Manchester United training session on Tuesday morning.

To mark the occasion at Old Trafford, it is believed the 36-year-old will make a solo walk to the centre circle before kick-off after his name is announced to what is guaranteed to be a pumped crowd.

It is rumoured that tickets for Saturday’s match are swapping hands for as much as £2,500

Ronaldo’s return is not being broadcasted live in the United Kingdom due to the 3pm blackout.
