The most valuable teams in world football have been revealed and Manchester City still lead the way despite Cristiano Ronaldo’s return to Manchester United.
Ronado is set to make his second debut for the Red Devils on Saturday afternoon against Newcastle United.
His arrival has taken United further ahead of Paris Saint-Germain, but they still trail bitter rivals City.
CIES Football Observatory deduct City’s squad value under Pep Guardiola currently sits at £924.5 million.
They broke the British transfer record to sign Jack Grealish for £100 million and are stacked in every position.
United in second place may come as a shock given PSG’s transfer window which saw them add Lionel Messi, Sergio Ramos, Gini Wijnaldum, Achraf Hakimi and Gianluigi Donnarumma.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer signed Jadon Sancho and Raphael Varane this summer as well as Ronaldo.
The gap between PSG and Real Madrid in fourth is big, given Madrid’s only signings this summer were David Alaba and Eduardo Camavinga.
Check out the entire top ten below:
10. Tottenham Hotspur (£473.2 million)
9. Barcelona (£496.4 million)
8. Arsenal (£541 million)
7. Juventus (£564.2 million)
6. Liverpool (£577.1 million)
5. Chelsea (£669.8 million)
4. Real Madrid (£675.9 million)
3. Paris Saint-Germain (£806.4 million)
2. Manchester United (£878.5 million)
1. Manchester City (£924.5 million)
Eight of the ten clubs are in this season’s Champions League while Tottenham are in the inaugural Europa Conference League.
Arsenal are the only team not in a European competition this campaign.
Of all the teams listed, PSG have faced the most scrutiny given how they stockpile talent.
Club president Nasser Al-Khelaifi discussed Financial Fair Play at Lionel Messi’s unveiling last month and insisted his side stay within the limits.
He said: “Regarding the financial aspect, I will make it clear – we know the rules of FFP and we will always follow the regulations.
“Before we do anything, we check with commercial, financial and legal people. We have the capacity.
“If we sign Leo, it’s because we can, otherwise we would not have done it.
“What Leo brings to the club is huge, which you can see just outside (the stadium, where thousands of fans had gathered). He is a big asset.
“I hope Leo will not ask for a raise of salary, but what we have is fantastic.”
