Erling Haaland’s incredible three-ball training drill proves he must be a football cyborg

Erling Braut Haaland has been playing like a man possessed for Borussia Dortmund this season.

The 20-year-old striker has already scored 11 times and delivered four assists in eight appearances across all competitions.

In his five Bundesliga games so far, Haaland has played a key role in 11 goals (7G, 4A), an average of more than two contributions per game.

The Norwegian’s numbers are absolutely phenomenal and the scary thing for defenders is that he’s only going to improve with age.

It’s incredibly difficult to pinpoint a single weakness in Haaland’s overall game and his finishing ability is right up there with the very best in the world.

The Leeds-born striker has further highlighted that fact by completing an incredible three-ball target exercise while training with Dortmund ahead of domestic football’s return this weekend.

Haaland placed three balls on top of each other (which itself is impressive) and then proceeded to successfully hit a target placed in the top corner of the goal with every single one of them.

Take a look at the footage here…

Video: Haaland’s outrageous three-ball training drill

If the footage in the video is real – which Dortmund themselves say it is – then we have to start questioning whether Haaland is actually a footballing cyborg rather than a human being.

The Norwegian makes it look way too easy for our liking, as we’d almost certainly send the balls flying in all different directions after one attempted shot at goal.

Haaland missed Dortmund’s last three games before the international break with injury and was subsequently unable to represent his country for their most recent 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

But judging by the footage above, the young superstar looks as if he’s fit and raring to go in time for club football’s triumphant return.

Dortmund host Mainz in the Bundesliga on Saturday, before a tricky Champions League game away at Ajax three days later.
