Neymar met a Santos youngster who received abuse online and the lad was reduced to tears over rubbing shoulders with his idol.

9-year-old Bruninho was met with nasty messages on social media because after Santos’ 2-0 loss to Palmeiras on 7 November, he asked for the shirt of opposition goalkeeper Jailson.

He ended up releasing a video on the matter following the negative comments and got support from Neymar, who made his name at Santos before developing into a world-class player.

And while on international duty with Brazil, the Paris Saint-Germain star met up with Bruninho, who was overawed by it all.

He hugged Neymar tightly, broke down into tears on more than one occasion and had two shirts signed by the 29-year-old.

The whole video is incredibly wholesome.

Neymar started Brazil’s 1-0 win over Colombia on Friday evening, with he and the rest of the Selecao turning their attentions to the huge World Cup qualification clash with Argentina – captained by his club colleague Lionel Messi – on Tuesday.

Unbeaten Brazil have taken 34 points from 12 games and top the table, six points ahead of second-placed Argentina.

Meanwhile, Brazil legend Cafu has said Neymar is better than both Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in terms of ability, but needs to improve his leadership qualities.

“Neymar is technically better than Messi, better than Cristiano Ronaldo, but he must assume the responsibility of a leader,’ the former AC Milan and Roma right-back told Marca.

“One must dedicate themselves 100 per cent to football. I’m not better than Neymar, but I am better than other right-backs because I dedicated myself to that.

“He (Neymar) has to become a captain.”
