Barcelona are reportedly ‘upset’ with club legend and paid ambassador Ronaldinho for comments made about Lionel Messi‘s move to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

Back in August, seven-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi memorably held an emotional farewell press conference at the Camp Nou after 21 years of service with the Catalan giants.

He then completed a medical at the Parc des Princes and signed a two-year contract with the French giants worth a reported €35 million-a-year after tax [€729,000-per-week].

Months later and former teammate Ronaldinho said it was a “pleasant surprise” that Messi joined his former club Paris Saint-Germain after so many years in Barcelona.

“It is a great joy to have played for these two clubs and now to see my friend wearing this shirt, there are many moments of joy for Leo Messi,” he said via The Mirror

“I am very happy to see Messi at PSG, a club that occupies an important place in my heart.

“I did not expect it (the transfer) to happen, I was counting on Messi going to finish his career at Barcelona. It was a surprise, but a pleasant surprise for me.”

The report states that Barca have been left ‘dismayed’ by the comments made by the Brazilian.

Back in 2017, Ronaldinho, who spent five years at the La Liga club, was named a club ambassador and representative.

“FC Barcelona and Ronaldinho have reached an agreement whereby the Brazilian will become a club ambassador and representative at various events and activities over the coming years,” a statement on their official website reads.

“Ronaldinho will also form part of the legends project, a team of former players who, through matches around the world, will help to globalise the Barça brand and its values, and will take part in clinics, training sessions and institutional events, among other activities organised by the club.”
