Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku‘s Facebook bio has emerged after his controversial interview that aired this past week.
In a chat with Sky Italia, Lukaku revealed he was “not happy with the situation” at Chelsea, claimed a return to Stamford Bridge was only his fourth choice and regularly mentioned his desire to turn out for Inter Milan again in the future.
Thomas Tuchel was less than impressed with the comments made by Chelsea’s record goalscorer and left him out of the matchday squad for the 2-2 draw with Liverpool.
And eagle-eyed fans have noticed the interesting detail on Lukaku’s official Facebook page.
While the Belgian’s header and cover photo has him in Chelsea colours, his bio simply reads, “Inter Milan”.
It’s not a great look for Lukaku considering his explosive, tell-all interview, where he said, “I really, genuinely from the bottom of my heart hope to come back to Inter, not at the end of my career, but while I am still at the level to win more trophies”.
The former Everton and Manchester United man returned headed back to West London in a club-record £97.5 million move off the back of firing Inter Milan to a first Scudetto in 11 years.
His season hasn’t exactly gone as planned though. Lukaku has scored just times in 13 Premier League games and has had an ankle problem as well as a period out with COVID-19.
According to The Telegraph, Tuchel is to hold “showdown talks” with Lukaku on Monday.
The Chelsea boss says he has had two conversations with him so far and cannot yet guarantee a return to the fold just yet.
“He’s our player, he will stay our player, we will always protect our player,” Tuchel said after the Liverpool draw, as per The Guardian.
“First we need to evaluate the situations, not listen to media or pressure, understand what he said and why he said it.
“Then we will take the decision if he is good to go for Wednesday. I cannot tell you right now because we need to talk and understand the situation more and on we go. Once the situation is clear he will stay our player and protect our player.”
