Arsenal completed a dramatic comeback on Thursday night after a 95th-minute own goal gave the Gunners a 2-1 win over Wolves in the Premier League.

Hwang-Hee Chan’s opening strike gave the visitors a decisive lead in the opening ten minutes and the scoreline stayed that way late into the second half.

But it was Arsenal who came out on top, with the north London side showing their resilience to claw their way back into the match with a duo of late goals that see them jump above West Ham to fifth place in the league.

Nicolas Pepe levelled the scores in the 82nd minute before a last-gasp strike from Alexandre Lacazette was deflected into the net by Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa, prompting wide-spread delirium inside the Emirates Stadium.

The result moves Mikel Arteta’s side a step closer towards the top four, with the Gunners now hot on the tail of Manchester United, with just a solitary point separating the two powerhouses of English football.

The good news for Arsenal is that they have two games in hand over the Red Devils, whose recent form has left a lot to be desired.

Meanwhile, things down in London couldn’t be going any better for the 13-time league champions, with their team of young stars having only lost one of their last nine league games.

One of those players is Norwegian midfielder Martin Odegaard, who has had a superb season since he completed a permanent move to the club from Real Madrid last summer.

Martin Odegaard: Arsenal’s best summer signing?

Having appeared in 22 of Arsenal’s 24 league matches this season, the 23-year-old has become a familiar face in the Gunners’ starting XI, and there’s a reason why.

Impressing with his elite ball-winning skills, box-to-box playmaking abilities and his undying ambition to drive play vertically upfield, Odegaard has become a fan favourite at the Emirates.

He has consistently produced excellent performances throughout the season, notably being an integral part of Arsenal’s landslide victories against Leeds United and Norwich City.

And last night, he once again showed us why he is perhaps one of the most exciting young midfielders in the Premier League, as he helped the north London club overturn a 1-0 deficit against Wolves.

It’s fair to say, without Odegaard on the pitch, Thursday night’s scoreline would have been much different for Arsenal, with the exciting talent being the orchestrator for both Pepe and Lacazette’s goals, as well as countless other attacks from the home side.

Using his exceptional skills to twist and turn around defenders, Odegaard even struck the bar on one occasion during the match.

A highlights reel is currently going viral on Twitter, showing just how influential the youngster was against Wolves and Arsenal fans do not want to miss it.

Take a look at the compilation video below…

It’s fair to say Real Madrid will be kicking themselves knowing they let Odegaard go for only £30 million.

He really is turning into quite some player.

Fans have been reacting to the footage on social media, with some claiming Arsenal have found their next midfield maestro…

While it’s evident the youngster has some excellent abilities on the ball, he also showed some elite leadership skills during the match, catalysing his side into action while also motivating Lacazette to up his game.

Odegaard was notably furious with the Frenchman after Lacazette squandered a chance played into him by Gabriel Martinelli.

Instead of playing the ball to the Norwegian, who was unopposed inside the box, the striker chose to have a strike himself, much to the frustration of his teammate, who raised his arms at the striker in disbelief.

While Arsenal didn’t get on the scoresheet on that occasion, it was no doubt a turning point in the match and seemed to motivate Lacazette into action, who moments later was seen rousing the crowd to cheer on their team.

It’s safe to say that Arsenal have an exciting young talent on their hands, who could play a big part in leading this club back to their former glories.
