Dennis Bergkamp was brilliant during his time at Arsenal.

The Dutchman established himself as an Arsenal legend after signing for the club in 1995.

He made 423 appearances for The Gunners in an 11-year stint, scoring 120 times and helping the club to 10 trophies.

Bergkamp was one of the first inductees into the Premier League Hall of Fame.

But, despite being one of the greatest players in Premier League history, Alan Shearer does not view Bergkamp as the best ‘number 10’ in England’s top tier since 1992.

Shearer appeared on the Match of the Day Top 10 podcast alongside Micah Richards and Gary Lineker.

Shearer and Richards were tasked with ranking the 10 best ‘number 10s’ in Premier League

And Shearer only put Bergkamp in second, behind Paul Scholes.

That was a decision that completely baffled Richards and you can view the former Man City man’s reaction below…

Shearer: “Look at what he’s done and won in the game…”

Richards: “Scholes is a better number 10 than Bergkamp?!”

Shearer: “You heard that correct.”

Richards: “What are you drinking?! Check there’s no vodka in there, please!”

Shearer: “Look at what he’s [Scholes] achieved. Look at how many games, look at how many goals.”

Richards: “Bergkamp changed the number 10 role in Premier League history.”

Shearer: “I’m not denying he was incredible player but Scholes was…”

Richards: “But he was more of a number eight!”

Shearer: “I’m not arguing with you Berkgamp was great, because he was. I loved him. Scholes was probably the best player I played against.”

Richards: “I can’t believe what I’m hearing. Scholes was an incredible player, but we’re talking number 10! Oh my… Alan! I’m walking. Get Wrighty back in here!”
