Liverpool were crowned 2021/22 Carabao Cup champions on Sunday evening after defeating Chelsea in the final at Wembley.

The final was a very tight affair with both sides giving it their all to win the trophy.

Both sides had chances but, due to marginal offsides and numerous missed opportunities, neither side were able to break the deadlock.

The game was decided by penalties and it was Liverpool who would triumph, with the unfortunate Kepa Arrizabalaga missing the decisive penalty.

The match was a feisty affair with both sides getting into numerous altercations.

One player that was often involved in scuffles between the two sides was Chelsea’s defender, Antonio Rudiger.

The German was animated when Naby Keita’s arm caught Mason Mount’s face mid-way through the first-half.

The challenge prompted both sides to crowd around the referee. Rudiger came storming in and tried to start on Liverpool’s defender, Virgil van Dijk.

The Dutchman, though, had absolutely no time for his opponent. Despite Rudiger pushing Van Dijk three times in 15 seconds, the Liverpool man acted as if Rudiger wasn’t even there.

After growing tired of his attempts to wind up Van Dijk, Rudiger then went for Fabinho.

Fabinho’s hand was in the air and Rudiger angrily slapped it down. The Brazilian wasn’t having it either as he just laughed in the Chelsea man’s face. Watch the moment below…

Fair to say Rudiger wasn’t getting the reaction he was hoping for.

Liverpool fans enjoyed the actions of Van Dijk and Fabinho. View some reaction below…

Rudiger was also not happy with Harvey Elliott in the second half when he pushed Kai Havertz.

The exchange ended with James Milner and Rudiger going head-to-head and exchanging some unpleasantries.

Whenever there’s a mini scuffle in a Chelsea game, you can guarantee that Rudiger will be in the thick of things.
