And Ronaldo s ays he is excited by the prospect of working with Ten Hag, who recently won the Dutch Eredivisie title with Ajax for the third time.

“I know that he has done a fantastic job at Ajax, and that he is an experienced coach, but we have to give him time,” Ronaldo told United’s website.

“Things must change the way he wants. If you do well, all of Manchester United will succeed, so I wish you all the best.

United are currently sixth in the Premier League table, eight points off the top four with only one game remaining in their season – a trip to Crystal Palace on the final day.

Despite the club’s struggles this season, United’s interim boss Ralf Rangnick is confident Ronaldo will remain at Old Trafford.

When asked to comment on Ronaldo’s wave to fans after United’s final home game of the campaign, Rangnick told Stadium Astro: “I don’t think why it should be a wave of goodbye.

“He’s got another year of his contract, and as far as I know he will be here next season again.”
