Jurgen Klopp made a cheeky dig at Carlo Ancelotti, ahead of the Champions League final, reminding him about the famous 2005 final.

lopp takes on Ancelotti on Saturday night in the Stade de France, as Liverpool look to take revenge on Real Madrid, who beat them in the final four years ago.

Mohamed Salah is certainly out for revenge, with the Egyptian saying as much and seemingly rattling a few of the Real players, who really took it to heart.

Now Klopp’s taken his own mini shot at Ancelotti, making a joke about the Italian being in charge of AC Milan lost in the final in Istanbul, having been 3-0 up against the Reds.

“I am not sure if I watched it fully that night, but of course, 2005 Liverpool won, so yeah big comeback, things like this,” the German said about that final when talking to talkSPORT.

“Since I am here, everybody told me about it, you don’t have to ask, you get told these stories without asking.

“Great story being 3-0 down, coming back to 3-3 and winning in the penalty shootout. The chances [Jerzy] Dudek denied against a really strong AC Milan side. Yeah, massive.”

Then teasing his upcoming opponent, Klopp said to the interviewer, “Who was the coach of AC Milan that night?”

“[Carlo] Ancelotti,” the interviewer replied.

“Ah, yeah, I know! [Laughs]… Carlo, we are coming!”

Milan had taken a three goal advantage into half time on that night in Turkey, only for the Reds to complete an incredible second half comeback.

Goals from Steven Gerrard, Vladimir Smicer and Xabi Alonso in six minutes at the start of the second period completely changed things around.

The game then went to a penalty shoot out, with Dudek becoming the hero and saving three penalties from the Italian side, considered the best in Europe at the time.

Of course, Ancelotti won’t be too bothered, as he took revenge on the Premier League side two years later, beating the same team in the final.
