Pep Guardiola has invited Manchester United fans to Manchester City’s Premier League title party if they’re crowned champions on Sunday.

City will win the title if they beat Aston Villa and it’ll be their fourth in five years.

More importantly to United supporters, it’ll stop Liverpool from winning the quadruple and eclipsing their treble season of 1998/99.

Guardiola recently claimed more people want Liverpool to finish top of the table and after being told United fans don’t, he had a cheeky response.

“Are you sure? Yeah? So United likes City more than Liverpool? Oh my God, I didn’t know it!” Guardiola joked before adding: “Is it true?

“So I was wrong when I say everyone wants Liverpool to win the title in this country! I was wrong. Yeah, welcome (United fans). Welcome. If they want to join us in the street. But they have to wear the blue shirt, yeah. They have to wear it!”

It’s unlikely United supporters will don a sky blue shirt but they’ll probably prefer City ruling the roost to Liverpool.

A Liverpool triumph would mean the Reds’ overall title count will sit at 20, level with United who last won the league in 2013.

It’s been a disastrous season for United and they’ve missed out on a place in next season’s Champions League.

The highest they can finish is sixth and in a Europa League spot. There is a chance they drop to seventh, which means they’ll be in the Europa Conference League.

Defeat to Crystal Palace and a victory for West Ham United against Brighton would see the Red Devils drop down to Europe’s third-tier competition.

Erik ten Hag has been announced as their new manager and he’ll be keen to rejig the squad this summer.

Liverpool, meanwhile, have already won the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and face Real Madrid in the Champions League final next weekend.

City are expected to win the title and have also announced the signing of Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland.
