Lorenzo Insigne’s son stole the show at his father’s Toronto FC unveiling after interrupting the presser.
The Italy international has signed a four-year deal with the Canadian side and becomes the highest-paid in the history of the MLS.
The pre-contract was signed back in January and early this week Insigne jetted out to Toronto for his presentation with his wife Jenny and children Carmine and Christian.
With the help of a translator, Insigne fielded questions from the media about his decision to join Toronto at the age of 31.
But the very best bit of the press conference came at the end. The media spokesperson announced there would be one last question and then suddenly one of Insigne’s sons came onto the mic and said, “Daddy, I love you.”

The winger’s move to North America coincides with the huge captures of Giorgio Chiellini and Gareth Bale for Los Angeles FC.
Insigne, though, will be the top earner on a reported $15 million-per-season contract – usurping Chicago Fire’s Xherdan Shaqiri.
He will follow in the footsteps of compatriot Sebastian Giovinco, who went on to become Toronto’s all-time record goalscorer with 83 goals in 142 games.
“It’s been very difficult to leave Napoli, the city and the team, but it’s a choice that I had to make. And it’s been a life choice for me and also for the future of my kids,” Insigne said on his decision, as per MLSSoccer.com.
“When I first met the president, he struck me as a really great person and the project that he explained to me about the team and the organisation has struck me.
“So I made a decision not for the money but to find a new life for my family and my kids, and for their well-being. The project is certainly a challenge and I would like to be part of winning the championship.”
