Paris Saint-Germain scored within eight seconds of their match against Lille in unbelievable scenes.

PSG kicked off away from home and after just a couple of passes, were 1-0 up.

It was Lionel Messi’s ridiculous pass that set up Kylian Mbappe, who finished cooly.

It’s one of the fastest goals we’ve ever seen – and it was pretty incredible.

It actually looked like something PSG had worked on.

Neymar kicked off and immediately got the ball back. He set the ball back to Messi who played a first time ball for Mbappe in behind Jose Fonte. Mbappe’s finish was superb.

It had been a difficult week for PSG since their 5-2 victory over Montpellier last weekend.

Mbappe was criticised during that match for appearing to give up while PSG were on the attack after he wasn’t passed the ball.

The Frenchman then made headlines for seeming to barge past Messi and engaging in a discussion with Neymar as the Brazilian prepared to take a penalty. After previously missing a spot-kick, it seemed Mbappe was trying to convince Neymar to let him take another one.

However, ahead of the trip to Lille, PSG boss Christophe Galtier insisted everything was ‘fine’ between the pair.

“There is no discomfort, it’s fine,” Galtier said. “Of course, we quickly met the next day to iron out all that and say what we had to say to each other. That’s why there is no malaise and I confirm it with a lot of sincerity, we had a very pleasant week of work where everyone worked to prepare the match against Lille.”

But who will take the penalty if PSG are awarded one against Lille?

“It can only be evolutionary because it depends on who is on the field at that moment,” Galtier responded. “In this match against Montpellier there was a very precise order, shooter number one Kylian, shooter number two Ney. That’s what happened.

“Afterwards, there is the interpretation that we make when we give an order, what happens when there is a second penalty. Nothing happened on the second penalty, it was very short, there was a discussion, an exchange, a discussion between Ney and Kylian. From the moment Ney felt like taking it, Kylian let Ney take it.”
