Lionel Messi’s PSG Shirt Sold Out Online Only 30 Minutes After Officially Signing For Club

Paris Saint-Germain fans flooded the club’s online store and snapped up all available Lionel Messi shirts only 30 minutes after his signing was officially announced.

The six-time Ballon d’Or winner arrived in Paris on Tuesday for his medical ahead of completing his sensational free transfer to the Ligue 1 side.

Messi, whose Barcelona contract expired at the end of June, inked a two-year deal with PSG with the option to extend for a third.

PSG confirmed that the 34-year-old Argentine superstar would wear the No 30 shirt — a number he previously wore on his debut for Barcelona.

Messi appeared at an emotional farewell Barcelona conference on Sunday before he received a formal contract offer from PSG.

The Barcelona legend flew out to the French capital with his family and was met with a spine-tingling reception from PSG fans.

Messi is reportedly PSG’s highest-paid player ahead of Neymar and Kylian Mbappe with his hefty £29.6m salary.

Messi said: “I am impatient to start a new chapter of my career in Paris. The club and its vision are in perfect harmony with my ambitions.

“I know how talented the players and staff are here. I am determined to build, alongside them, something great for the club and for the fans. I can’t wait to set foot on the Parc des Princes pitch.”
