The CONCACAF Nations League final between the USA and Mexico got very, very spicy last night – with punches and missiles thrown as well as a series of tasty tackles.
Chelsea star and USMNT captain Christian Pulisic bagging the winner from the spot in the 115th minute as Gregg Berhalter’s side emerged victorious with a thrilling 3-2 comeback win in extra time.

Mexico’s Andres Guardado saw his penalty saved by US substitute goalkeeper Ethan Horvath in the dying embers of extra time and the frustrated substitute became the eighth player to be booked in the feisty fixture.
A number of scuffles broke out in the 90 minutes, including a heated altercation late on where Juventus’ Weston McKinnie had his throat grabbed by Hector Herrera of Atletico Madrid.
There were also no less than three VAR reviews over the course of 120 pulsating minutes.
Things got heated after the foul 😳

The affair at Sports Authority Park in Denver Colorado, was incredibly difficult for the referee to control and it was no surprise to see a second fight break out right at the very end of extra time.
Mexico vs USA is all bad blood on the pitch 👀

#Mexico fans are trying to hit USA players…instead hit their own team.
The refs need to blow the damn whistle and end this. #USMNT #USAvsMEX pic.twitter.com/Yo1g6vuoDx

With mass pushing and shoving going on, cups were hurled from the stands onto the pitch and struck players from both sides.
The encounter was comfortably more violent than the Logan Paul vs Floyd Mayweather boxing bout that happened over in Miami on the same night – and there were probably more punches thrown too.
Here’s hoping they meet again in the Gold Cup final next month and produce more fireworks.
