Patrice Evra Trolls Manchester City’s CL Final Defeat With Savage Instagram Post

Manchester United legend Patrice Evra has trolled Manchester City’s Champions League final defeat to Chelsea with a savage Instagram post.

Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the game as Chelsea were crowned Champions of Europe for a second time this decade.

City’s wait for European glory goes on and it’s something Evra, who won the Champions League with United in 2008, took great joy in.

He took to Instagram and said: “I need it to ask Sir Bobby to check again !!! Good night everyone #ilovethisgame #positive4evra #manchesterunited @championsleague #savage”

Attached is an image of Evra photoshopped next to Sir Bobby Charlton holding the trophy with the message of: “Sir Bobby can you check for City’s name again?

“Nope, still not here Pat… I love this game.”

Fans have reacted to Evra’s post and they expected nothing less given his outgoing personality on social media.

One fan commented: “Patrice Evra is such a legend.”

Another said: “We do not deserve Patrice Evra. I love this game.”

A third added: “LOOOOOL Evra is just too much man.”

While someone else said: “How long did you have this in your drafts, mate?”

Pep Guardiola’s side won the Premier League at a canter this season but were well off the pace in Porto.

They registered just one shot on target and didn’t start with an orthodox striker, meaning Gabriel Jesus and Sergio Aguero were on the bench.

Ilkay Gundogan also started in defensive midfield ahead of Fernandinho and Rodri.

Speaking to BT Sport post-match, Guardiola explained per Daily Express: “I did what was best for the team.

“Exceptional season for us, today we’re sad, but we’ll analyse how exceptional the season was for us. It was a tight game, we had almost first gear chances, they missed one with [Timo] Werner, in the second-half with [Christian] Pulisic.

“In the second-half, we were brilliant, we were brave but we could not convert the goals, because defensively they are so strong, so fast in the counter-attack.

“We didn’t allow them to make the process to play, the players were exceptional for them. Yeah, we’ll come back maybe one day again.

“The ambition now is rest. After we will prepare for the next season and try to recover with the players coming back in two or three months. Game by game, we will try to do it.

“It’s the first time we’re at these stages, for us, it’s a moment to be here and hopefully we will return in the future.”

This evening’s clash was Aguero’s final in a City shirt and he’s expected to join Barcelona later this summer.
