Amad Diallo faces an injury setback for Manchester United ahead of the Wrexham clash

Manchester United forward, Amad Diallo, has been seen on crutches ahead of his team’s friendly match against Wrexham.

United is set to face the newly-promoted League Two side in the United States on Wednesday at 3:30 am UK time, serving as the second test of their tour under Erik ten Hag.

The team has had a strong start to their pre-season matches, securing a 2-0 victory against Arsenal at the MetLife Stadium, followed by a penalty shootout triumph. Additionally, a 1-0 win over Lyon at Murrayfield preceded the Arsenal match, showcasing United’s solid defensive performance as they have yet to concede a goal in regular time during the pre-season tour.

During these matches, United has given opportunities to younger players, with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo, Alvaro Fernandez, and Dan Gore impressing with their performances so far.

However, the sight of Amad Diallo on crutches raises concerns about his availability for upcoming matches and will be closely monitored by the club and fans alike.

Amad Diallo has been given playing time during pre-season after a successful loan spell at Championship side Sunderland last season.

While the Ivorian’s future at Manchester United has been uncertain, his inclusion in the travelling squad to the United States indicates that he will likely remain at Old Trafford in the short-term.

However, there are concerns that he may not play any further part in pre-season, and his participation in the subsequent friendly against Real Madrid is also in doubt.

The presence of Amad on crutches ahead of the friendly against Wrexham suggests that he might be dealing with an injury or a fitness issue that could potentially affect his availability for the upcoming matches.

The club will closely monitor his condition and make decisions to ensure his well-being and fitness.

Amad spotted on crutches ahead of Man Utd friendly

After the win over Arsenal, Amad was filmed holding a pair of crutches as he boarded a modified golf cart inside the MetLife Stadium.

He appeared to be seated alongside a United medical staff member, with the cart then driving the pair away out of view.

Amad was brought on to the pitch at half-time as Ten Hag made a raft of changes to his ranks, but lasted only 13 minutes before he was replaced by Facundo Pellistri.

The injury appeared to be fairly innocuous, with the forward attempting to block a cross before signalling to the bench that his evening was over.

Fortunately for United, however, the Ivorian reassured fans after the game that his injury was not serious.

Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “I feared the worst, ALHAMDOULILAH nothing serious. Back soon Inch’ALLAH.”
