Arsenal fans disgusted after John Stones ‘offside’ goal allowed to stand

Arsenal fans are fuming after Manchester City’s second goal, as they firmly believe that John Stones was offside.

The linesman initially raised his flag for offside after Stones headed home from Kevin De Bruyne’s free-kick just before half-time.

However, VAR reviewed the goal and overturned the decision, stating that the Man City defender was in an onside position.

However, Arsenal fans online are convinced the England international was ahead of Ben White when De Bruyne played the ball into the box.

One Twitter user wrote: “How can you judge off this angle!? It’s pathetic.”

A second tweeted: “He’s offside anyone can see it.”

A third added: “Ah I see they remembered to draw the line for this one.”

A fourth said: “Nah that’s offside for me – don’t care what VAR and those lines say!”

Another commented: “I’ve switched off. VAR has destroyed the enjoyment.”

De Bruyne opened the scoring in the seventh minute, with Stones doubling his side’s advantage in first-half stoppage time.
