Benjamin Pavard informs Bayern Munich of his desire to join Manchester United

Reports from Germany indicate that Benjamin Pavard has expressed his desire to move to Manchester United to Bayern Munich, but a significant disparity in valuation appears to be an obstacle.

The 27-year-old French international is keen on donning the colors of Manchester United this summer. In fact, according to Sky Sports, Pavard has an alleged “verbal agreement” to join the Old Trafford side.

Nevertheless, Bayern Munich holds the preference for the versatile defender to remain within their ranks, especially following their unsuccessful attempt to secure the services of Manchester City’s full-back, Kyle Walker.

However, it seems the Bundesliga club might need to reconsider their stance.

After days of speculations surrounding his future, Pavard seems to have communicated his aspiration to move to Manchester United to Bayern Munich.

That’s according toBILDvia@iMiaSanMia, who suggest the Frenchman no longer feels comfortable in Munich and wants to leave.

Manchester United is reportedly willing to offer £29 million for Benjamin Pavard, whereas Bayern Munich is seeking around €45 million to €50 million, approximately translating to £38 million to £43 million.

The Premier League club is actively seeking reinforcements following the £30 million deal agreed with West Ham for center-back Harry Maguire.

Possible candidates like Jean-Clair Todibo and Edmond Tapsoba have been linked as potential replacements for the departing English international.

Despite the various potential replacements, it appears that Pavard, whose current contract with Bayern has only a year remaining, is the most likely candidate to join Manchester United as the transfer window approaches its conclusion.

Last week,Sky Sports Newsreporter Kaveh Solhekol confirmed United would move for Pavard should Harry Maguire leave the club.

“Sources in Germany are expecting Manchester United to make a move for Benjamin Pavard if Harry Maguire leaves United,” he said.

“Bayern Munich have known for a long time that Pavard wants to leave and one source has told us that the player wants to move to United and also negotiations are ongoing at the moment.

“Now he’s a right-back that also plays as a centre-back. He would cost, we’re being told around €30-35million, so probably around £30 million.

“In the past, he’s been linked to Manchester City, Liverpool and Barcelona, and he moved to Bayern from Stuttgart I think four years ago for €35 million.”

Solhekol added: “I think what Bayern were trying to do this summer was to sell Pavard because he told them he wants to leave and replace him with Kyle Walker from Manchester City.

“But it looks like Kyle Walker is going to sign a new contract and stay at City, so will Bayern be putting pressure behind the scenes on Pavard to actually stay at the club? Our information is that the player would fight to get out of Bayern Munich.

“He really wants to move to the Premier League and I think he would find it very, very difficult to say no to Manchester United if United were to make an offer for him.”
