Bruno Fernandes trolls Aston Villa fans with shirty message after Man Utd win

Bruno Fernandes aimed a ruthless dig at Aston Villa fans after he scored Manchester United’s winner in Sunday’s Premier League clash.

Fernandes scored the only goal of the game as Man United ran out 1-0 winners at Old Trafford.

He smashed home from close range to secure a big win as the Red Devils look well-placed to finish in the top-four this season.

The goal also brought up the Portuguese’s 100th league goal of his career as he produced an ice-cold celebration after finding the back of the net.

He celebrated in front of the visiting Villa fans and glared in their direction whilst his teammates mobbed him.

Speaking after the match, Fernandes stressed the importance of taking three points, telling Sky Sports: ‘It is always important [to win].’

‘We know this club is about winning games, every game we have to win, donesnt matter the opponent, we knew we would play one team in really good form that hasn’t lost in their last 10 games.

‘They [Villa] have good patterns and good players but we also knew we can do our job and win the game.

‘We did what we trained to do, we could have scored more goals but we are happy with the three points,’ he said.

“They probably don’t like to play against me,” he told MUTV. “I would prefer them to come and support their players rather than focus on me.”

In another interview, he added: “It was just a celebration. I scored in that corner [so] I have to go to that corner. I couldn’t run all the way to the other corner to celebrate or go all the way to the Stretford End to celebrate. I just went there.

“I didn’t do anything disrespectful. I think they (the fans) did a little bit, but I didn’t. I did my job, I scored and I celebrated like I always celebrate.”

It’s a far cry from the last meeting between the two sides in Manchester as Fernandes blazed a penalty over the bar in a 1-0 defeat last season.

The 28-year-old likes playing against Villa, having now scored seven goals in eight games against the Midlands outfit.
