Daniel Sturridge sings Usher in front of Roy Keane on Super Sunday, football is officially back

During Super Sunday, Daniel Sturridge showcased his vocal talents by delivering an impressive rendition of Usher’s popular song “Nice & Slow.”

However, Roy Keane’s reaction to the performance appeared to be less than enthusiastic.

In anticipation of the 2023/24 season, it was revealed that Sturridge, aged 33, would be joining the Sky Sports presenting team, following his noteworthy television debut in April.

“I’m looking forward to using my experience on the pitch and bringing this insight to the fans watching at home,” he said after the news was announced.

The ex-England national team player provided viewers with insightful analysis during Sunday’s match between Chelsea and Liverpool at Stamford Bridge.

He also contributed to the entertainment factor alongside fellow pundits Micah Richards and Roy Keane. In fact, a particular moment from their interaction gained widespread attention.

As evident in the footage below, Sturridge opted to serenade the audience at the conclusion of Super Sunday with a song. However, the response to his musical performance was varied.

In addition to the above clip, Keane gave us a wry smile when Sturridge decided to perform his best “baby” impression as he stood alongside the former Manchester United captain.

Sturridge, who has lifted two Champions League titles, one Premier League title and two FA Cups, was released by Australian A-league side Perth Glory last year.

But now, the enigmatic striker will join the likes of Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Jamie Redknapp on punditry duty.

It was certainly an entertaining Super Sunday, and one of the best moments from Stamford Bridge came at half-time, when Roy Keane’s cameo in the latest Sky Sports advert was broadcast to millions.

Ahead of the new season, Keane joined the likes of Jack Grealish and Erling Haaland in an entertaining ‘Greatest Show on Earth’ commercial.

F1 driver Lewis Hamilton also featured alongside England cricket captain Ben Stokes and ringmaster Idris Elba; the British actor known for his role in Luther.

In fact, during the advert, Elba approached former United midfielder Roy Keane, who didn’t look too pleased in a face full of clown make-up.

A few weeks after the advert was first broadcast and those inside the Sky Sports studio reacted to Keane’s iconic cameo.

Micah Richards, Daniel Sturridge and presenter David Jones waited in anticipation for Keane’s initial reaction and to be fair, he took it well.

“Red nose day has come early,” Richards laughed. “All you need now is some size 20 boots.”
