Danny Ings Has Already Won The Premier League Goal Of The Season Award

It may only be August and just two games into the new campaign but Danny Ings has already come up with a goal of the season contender after producing an outrageous overhead kick against Newcastle.

The former Liverpool striker notched on his competitive Aston Villa debut last week, converting from the spot in the defeat to Watford.

He made it two in two with the opener against Newcastle this afternoon and we may not see a better strike during the whole season.

The ball was flicked on from a long throw-in that was hurled into the box in first-half stoppage time and the ball dropped into the area where Ings was.

Adjusting himself brilliantly, he conjured up an outstanding acrobatic effort that flew into the far corner and sent Villa Park into a frenzy.

The technique was utterly incredible and already many are saying the goal of the season competition is done and dusted:

That Danny Ings goal is dope for many reasons. The last tick of the first half, the technique, the skill, the punash, the celebration on the field, Villa Park just going absolutely bonkers.
I mean come on, Goal of the season iyah!

Sounds like Danny Ings has just won goal of the season already.

In his past two seasons, Ings has hit a combined total of 34 goals in the Premier League and looks good value to boast impressive numbers yet again this term.

His switch from Southampton, for a fee in the region of £25 million, came as a surprise given the club splashed out a club-record fee for Ollie Watkins a year ago.

But Ings guarantees goals and could be the man to carry Dean Smith’s side in the post-Jack Grealish era.
