After last week’s dramatic first-leg tie at Old Trafford, which ended 2-2, Manchester United hoped to secure a place in the Europa League semi-final in Seville.
However, they made an awful start inside a hostile Estadio Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan.
United goalkeeper David de Gea played a risky pass toward captain Harry Maguire on the edge of the United penalty area, and Sevilla forward Erik Lamela was quickly on the scene, forcing a mistake from Maguire.
Youssef En Nesyri completed his brace late in the second half after David de Gea made another awful error.
The United goalkeeper attempted to clear a long ball but only managed to play it into the path of En Neyri, who easily slotted the ball into the empty net.
Despite United’s efforts to find an equalizer, Sevilla’s solid defense kept them at bay throughout the game, resulting in a 3-0 win for the Spanish side and eliminating United from the Europa League.
A terrible night for Man Utd only gets worse…

Disgruntled United fans reacted on social media.
One said: “If Ten Hag renews De Gea’s contract then I’m Ten Hag Out I’m sorry.”
Another tweeted: “Ten Hag called De Gea a complete keeper btw.”
A third fan added: “De Gea having a cracking game tonight.”
Someone else wrote: “What was that attempt to control the ball by De Gea?”
Whilst a fifth commented: “De Gea usually makes it difficult to defend him.”
De Gea may have the most Premier League clean sheets this season at the time of writing, but surely his United future is firmly in the balance now, right?
If United are to progress even further as a team next season, they need a reliable goalkeeper who is also excellent with the ball at their feet.
