Erik ten Hag has excluded Wout Weghorst while urging five Manchester United players to aid Marcus Rashford in his goal-scoring endeavors.
Rashford has been having an impressive season, netting 27 goals across all competitions, with 14 of them coming from the Premier League.
However, in order to alleviate the pressure on the English striker and potentially acquire a new No.9 during the summer, Ten Hag is looking to his other key players to contribute with goals.
Despite having signed Weghorst in the January transfer window, the coach did not mention him as one of the capable scorers.

Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Newcastle United on Sunday, the Dutch boss said: “I think we have players like Bruno [Fernandes], like Jadon Sancho, like Anthony Martial, like Scott McTominay, like Antony dos Santos, we have enough players with the capabilities to score goals, definitely.
“What I said previously, I work in the back on next season [for transfers] but we’re working now on this season, so first of all make sure everyone is available and keep improving the way of play and that’s the best chance of scoring more goals.”
Since his arrival at Old Trafford, Weghorst has only managed to score two goals and has recently responded to criticism regarding his form. Despite this, he may be included in the lineup when his team returns to league action at St. James’ Park.
Ten Hag will be keeping his fingers crossed for Rashford’s fitness, as he missed out on international duty. On a separate note, PSG’s Neymar has reportedly lost nearly £1m in a single hand of online poker. Stay tuned for more updates.
On Rashford’s fitness, the Red Devils boss added: “I’ve good hope.
“He trained but he had to do some treatment, he had to do some individual training. Today he joined in with the group. We have one more day. I have a good hope he will be available.
“I think it’s positive that he was in a break. I think with Bruno, he was playing the most games of the whole squad.”
