European giants planning shock move for Rasmus Hojlund as scouts sent to watch Man Utd striker

Rasmus Hojlund appears to have found his feet at Manchester United, so much so that he is attracting interest from a European giant.

Holland joined Man United in a £72 million move last summer, but it took him over four months to score his first Premier League goal.

Since breaking his league duck against Aston Villa on Boxing Day, the 20-year-old striker has scored in five consecutive Premier League matches and provided two assists. His latest strike also came against Villa in a 2-1 win on Sunday.

When United signed Hojlund, manager Erik ten Hag reminded fans that the striker is a player for the future, rather than an instant fix to his side’s goal shyness.

However, if one European super-club gets their way, then Hojlund’s time at Old Trafford might prove to be short-lived.

According toDefensaCentral, Real Madrid are eyeing up the Denmark international as a potential solution to their striking conundrum.

The report claims that the club’s chief scout, Juni Calafat, was been tasked with scouting Hojlund in recent months. Calafat is the man responsible for Real Madrid signing the likes of Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo and Federico Valverde.

Kylian Mbappe is the man Florentino Perez really wants, and recent reports have suggested that the Paris Saint-Germain star will finally make the move to Madrid after years of speculation and false alarms.

Los Blancos still have hope of signing Erling Haaland, but the Norwegian striker is settled and committed to Manchester City.

Hojlund is therefore reportedly a back-up option, but one that club chiefs would be happy to bring in.

Calafat scouted Hojlund during his Atalanta days before he joined United, but Real Madrid would likely find it tricky to persuade United and the player into a move.
