Fans believe that Cristiano Ronaldo tried to claim his Al Nassr teammate’s goal was offside in their AFC Champions League win

Fans speculate that Cristiano Ronaldo attempted to argue that a teammate’s goal was offside during Al Nassr’s AFC Champions League match.

During Tuesday night’s match, Al Nassr faced off against Dubai-based club Shabab Al Ahli in the play-off round of the AFC Champions League.

Anderson Talisca found the net just 11 minutes into the game, but Al Nassr trailed 2-1 as the final minutes approached.

In a thrilling turn of events, Sultan Al Ghannam equalized to make it 2-2 with two minutes left on the clock. Subsequently, goals from Talisca and Marcelo Brozovic in injury time secured a dramatic 4-2 victory for Al Nassr.

For Talisca’s goal, fans felt Ronaldo was claiming for offside after the Portuguese appeared to have his arm up whilst looking towards the linesman.

One fan said: “Ronaldo calling offside on his own teammate’s last-minute goal.”

Another tweeted: “Unbelievable man. He feel jealous of his own teammates scoring match winner.”

A third fan added: “Ronaldo was not even happy for his teammate’s goal. Instead, he is appealing for an offside. This guy is unreal.”

Someone else wrote: “Cristiano Ronaldo Asking for offside after Talisca’s goal.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Nah no way he is actually claiming offside after his teammate scored lol.”

Recently, Ronaldo won his first trophy with Al Nassr after clinching the Arab Champions Cup.

After the match, Al Nassr manager Luis Castro praised Ronaldo, he said: “It’s hard to say something about him that the world doesn’t know. He has a lot of focus on everyday football.

“He transmits a contagious energy to the game and to his teammates. The day-to-day training, recovery, is fantastic.

“He is a captain for what he does every second of his day. Food, rest, hours of sleep, it’s total control of his body. On the field, he is that player. He can go to his own limits.”

Al Nassr will be back in action on Friday as they take on Al Fateh in the Saudi Professional League.
