Fans react as Al Nassr midfielder’s hilarious attempt on goal goes viral -“Ronaldo is putting up with a lot”

Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem, Cristiano Ronaldo’s teammate at Al Nassr, has gained attention on social media for an astonishingly poor attempt at goal.

Since his move to Al Nassr in January following a controversial departure from Manchester United, Ronaldo has experienced a challenging time in the Saudi Pro League.

In the final months of the previous season, he had several emotional outbursts, including kicking a ball in frustration during a King Cup of Champions match against Abha and discarding his captain’s armband in a 1-0 defeat against Al-Ittihad.

The new season seems to have reignited some of Ronaldo’s past frustrations. During a recent Arab Club Champions Cup group game against Al-Shabab, Ronaldo was captured on camera apparently throwing water at a cameraman and signaling for him to leave.

These incidents have added to the turbulent journey for Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League, where emotions have run high on multiple occasions.

Indeed, it’s understandable that Cristiano Ronaldo might feel frustrated considering the difference in the caliber of his current Al Nassr teammates compared to those he played with at Real Madrid, Juventus, and Manchester United in the past.

One particular Al-Nassr player, Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem, gained widespread attention on social media for an astonishingly poor shot he attempted during the match against Abha in March.

In the said incident, the 29-year-old had the ball on the left flank with no pressure and hesitantly advanced a few yards toward the box before attempting a shot that turned out to be abysmal.

The shot slowly looped into the air at a 45-degree angle and ended up being high, wide, and far away from its intended target by around 20 yards.

A visibly frustrated Cristiano Ronaldo can be seen in the background of the picture, placing his hand on his hips in a bemused manner, seemingly reacting to the surprising effort made by his teammate.

The stark contrast between his past teammates and the current ones in terms of skill and execution might have added to Ronaldo’s emotions on the pitch, especially when witnessing such unimpressive attempts during matches.

Despite the clip being months old, it has reemerged on Twitter and goneviral. In reaction to the shot, one person said: “This […] guy kills me, man. Ronaldo is putting up with a lot.”

Another said: “I can see why they’ve lost a lot of pre-season games.”

A third wrote: “Can’t believe Ronaldo has to play with this lot week in, week out.”

A fourth tweeted: “They killing him man.”

Al Sulaiheem had also gone viral days earlier during Al-Nassr’s 1-1 draw against Inter as part of a tour of Japan. The midfielder was caught looking perplexed by Inter’s ball retention before counting his teammates to ensure they were not playing at a numerical disadvantage.

Of course, Al Nassr have had a busy summer, having signed Lens captain Seko Fofana, Inter midfielder Marcelo Brozovic and United left-back Alex Telles.

Moreover, Sadio Mane has also been tipped to complete a move to the Saudi Pro League side from Bayern Munich.
