Sky Sports committed a significant error during their broadcast of the Newcastle vs Liverpool match, which many fans promptly noticed.
Despite being reduced to 10 players following Virgil van Dijk’s red card in the 30th minute, Liverpool managed to stage a remarkable comeback and secure a crucial away victory at St James’ Park.
After Anthony Gordon’s early goal had put the Magpies in the lead, the Reds were facing the possibility of a challenging match, particularly when their captain Van Dijk was sent off due to a challenge on Alexander Isak.
This incident occurred shortly after Trent Alexander-Arnold narrowly escaped a red card just five minutes into the game.
In the second half, however, Darwin Nunez emerged from the bench to deliver a spectacular late brace, securing a significant victory for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
During the early stages of the match, Sky Sports encountered a notable mishap in their coverage of the Super Sunday main event. The broadcast began as usual, but within just seven seconds, the clock vanished entirely from the top left corner of the screen.
For a considerable period, viewers were left without access to information about the score and the time elapsed in the game. This technical issue provoked frustration among many who were tuning in to watch.

Eventually the issue was sorted out and the clock, complete with the crests of both sides, returned for the remainder of the game as normal.
Sky’s next Premier League fixture is on Friday night when they broadcast Luton Town’s first home game in the top flight since 1992.
