Former Man Utd star Jesse Lingard posts cryptic message on social media amid transfer speculation

Jesse Lingard has posted a cryptic post on social media after claiming he is ‘done’ with partying and gossip.

Lingard, 31, is still a free agent as he’s without a club, having enjoyed a spell at Nottingham Forest last season.

The former Manchester United player has got rid of his representatives after growing frustrated with his situation.

He’s offered himself to La Liga giants Barcelona and is reportedly open to moving to Major League Soccer, with a switch to Portland Timbers mooted.

Lingard seems hellbent on resurrecting his career as he posted a video of himself training on Instagram.

He also shared an image, containing a cryptic message: “Just be real, it saves everyone’s time.”

It comes after Lingard delivered a candid monologue, where he revealed he is ‘done’ with partying and gossip.

He began by saying: “‘You coming out?’ No. ‘Do you want a drink?’ No!”

Lingard added: “This person was saying this about this person’, I don’t care bro! I don’t want to know. No negativity, positive vibes, aura, energy, high vibrations.

“Parties? Nah bro. Done with that, done with that. Alcohol? No thanks. Training? Yep. Gym? Yep. Family. Yep. Football? Yep.

“It’s about mindset. You get your mind right. You get your body right. Spiritually, mentally, physically – I’m a beast bro. Beast!”

Lingard, who graduated from Man United’s youth academy, made 20 appearances and scored two goals last season after penning a one-year deal at Forest.

He hasn’t been at his best since his prolific loan spell at West Ham United in the 2020/21 season.

He bagged an impressive nine goals in 16 league games and was linked with a return before joining Forest.

Lingard has also spent time on loan at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton and Derby County during his career.
