Getafe fans congregated outside their stadium to celebrate the acquisition of Mason Greenwood from Manchester United.
The 21-year-old has made a season-long loan move to the La Liga side, following Manchester United’s decision that it would be the best course of action for all parties involved.
A segment of Getafe supporters expressed their joy at the deal by waiting for official confirmation on their mobile phones outside the Coliseum Alfonso Pérez.
Upon receiving the news, they erupted in celebration, and Getafe’s official Twitter account shared a video of their jubilant reaction. You can view the video below.

Greenwood has been the subject of an internal investigation by the club after he had charges of attempted rape, assault and controlling behaviour dropped by the Crown Prosecution Service in February.
A statement from Manchester United confirming Greenwood’s move to the Spanish club read: “Mason Greenwood has signed for La Liga side Getafe CF on a season-long loan.
“The move enables Greenwood to begin to rebuild his career away from Manchester United. The club will continue to offer its support to Mason and his family during this period of transition.”
Since Greenwood’s arrival, Getafe have also set up a brand new Twitter account for English-speaking fans to follow and keep up-to-date on the winger’s progress.

James Ducker of The Telegraph has also confirmed that the Red Devils would pay the majority of his wages, tweeting that Getafe will “make a small contribution” towards the player’s £75,000 weekly salary.
When announcing the decision on Greenwood’s future, United said in a statement: “All those involved, including Mason, recognise the difficulties with him recommencing his career at Manchester United.
“It has therefore been mutually agreed that it would be most appropriate for him to do so away from Old Trafford, and we will now work with Mason to achieve that outcome.”
