Ilkay Gundogan and his wife Sara Arfaoui were reportedly left feeling abandoned by Barcelona after joining the club.
On the back of the 22/23 season, it was confirmed that Gundogan will leave Manchester City upon the expiration of his contract.
After exiting the Etihad club, Gundogan completed a free transfer to Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona.
However, upon joining the club, the German was reportedly unhappy with the support that the Catalan club gave him and his family.
According to Spanish news outletSPORT, Gundogan and Arfaoui felt abandoned by Barcelona and were expecting the club to help with things like housing and transport.
The report claimed that Gundogan made a complaint to the club citing that things could be improved and Barcelona then apologised to the 33-year-old.
It has also been reported that Gundogan is not the only player that this situation has happened to.
Gundogan was on the scoresheet on Saturday as Barcelona fell to a 2-1 defeat against fierce rivals Real Madrid.
Los Blancos recorded a vital El Clasico victory thanks to a stunning performance of Jude Bellingham, who scored twice to win the match for Madrid.

After the match, Gundogan did not mince his words as he criticised his teammates.
He said: “I have to be honest, not as much as I wish because I don’t want to say something wrong, but I was in the dressing room and of course people are disappointed.
“But especially after such a big game and a result that is so unnecessary, I wish for more frustration, more anger and more disappointment. This is a little bit the problem.”
Gundogan continued: “There has to be more emotion, especially when you lose and when you know you can perform better, do better in certain situations and you just don’t react.
“It transfers to the pitch at the end of the day. We need to make a huge step in that because otherwise Real Madrid or even Girona are going to run away. I didn’t come here to lose this type of game or to let a gap create.”
