iShowSpeed said he would be a Lionel Messi fan just seconds before he scored his free-kick

Seconds before Lionel Messi scored the spectacular winning goal, iShowSpeed, the American YouTube star and avid Cristiano Ronaldo fan, astonishingly proclaimed that he would become a Lionel Messi supporter.

Just last month, it was officially announced that Messi had reached an agreement to join the MLS team, Inter Miami, following the conclusion of his contract with Paris Saint Germain.

On Friday evening, the highly celebrated seven-time Ballon d’Or winner made his debut for Inter Miami, and among the spectators was iShowSpeed, a prominent YouTube personality, known for his ardent admiration for Cristiano Ronaldo.

Seconds before Messi netted the match-winner, iShowSpeed was filmed saying: “If Messi scores this free kick, I’m a Messi fan.” You can watch the footage below.

Moments later, the Argentine stepped up and curled a brilliant effort into the back of the net.

After witnessing Messi’s goal, iShowSpeed went on to take off his Ronaldo Portugal shirt and revealed a Messi Inter Miami shirt which he had on underneath.

Fans were quick to react to the footage on social media.

One said: “You know Messi the greatest when even speed turns on Ronaldo.”

Another tweeted: “Ronaldo fans when they see GREATNESS.”

A third fan added: “This is hilarious.”

Someone else wrote: “Bro is secretly a Messi fan like every Ronaldo’s fan. Suiiiii.”

Whilst a fifth commented: “Better late than never for Speed to realise that Lionel Messi will always be the real GOAT of football.”

The arrival of Messi will for sure bring huge attention to the MLS, the Argentine’s unveiling was attended by thousands of fans at the DRV PNK Stadium in Fort Lauderdale.

During his unveiling, Messi said: “I’m sure we’re going to have many wonderful experiences.

“I’m very much moved to be here in Miami, to be with you. I want to thank you, all of you, on behalf of my family, for the kindness that you have given me.”
