Jude Bellingham’s alleged offensive remark towards Mason Greenwood is being investigated by La Liga

Jude Bellingham will be investigated by La Liga over an alleged offensive remark made towards Mason Greenwood.

On Thursday night, Real Madrid travelled to the Coliseum as they took on Getafe.

A brace from striker Joselu was enough to seal a 2-0 win for Madrid as they regained top spot in the La Liga table, two points above Girona.

However, the match was marred by an apparent incident involving Bellingham and Greenwood.

The alleged incident took place in the second half of the match.

After Bellingham had tackled Greenwood, footage of the alleged incident ended up on social media.

According to The Athletic, La Liga has confirmed they have received a complaint from Getafe.

A statement read: “Getafe yesterday transferred the complaint to the La Liga match director and La Liga, as it always does on these occasions, has requested an expert report on lip reading to investigate the matter and act on the basis of what can be proven beyond doubt (by the lip reader).”

Back in August, it was confirmed that Greenwood and Manchester United have mutually agreed that the 22-year-old would continue his career away from Old Trafford.

Greenwood was the subject of an internal investigation held by United after the Crown Prosecution Service dropped its case against him for attempted rape, assault, and coercive control.

On transfer deadline day, Greenwood confirmed a loan move to Spanish La Liga side Getafe for the 23/24 season.

Since joining the Spanish club, Greenwood has made 21 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and assisting four.

During Greenwood’s time in Spain, the Englishman has been linked with another club in La Liga.

It has been previously reported that Barcelona are interested in signing the 22-year-old forward when his loan spell with Getafe ends at the end of the 23/24 season.
