The situation with Kylian Mbappe and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) seems to have taken a new turn.
After being left out of the matchday squad for PSG’s opening game of the 2023/24 season and training separately due to contract-related issues, it appears that there have been positive discussions leading to his “reinstatement” into the first-team squad.
Mbappe’s contract situation has been a subject of much speculation, with his current deal having less than a year remaining.
He had been training with a group of players reportedly labeled as “undesirables,” including Neymar, due to their contract situations.
The decision to include Mbappe in the squad after these discussions suggests that there might have been some progress in resolving the contract impasse.
Fans and football enthusiasts will likely continue to closely follow developments regarding Mbappe’s future, given the significant interest from other clubs like Real Madrid.

But he’s back in first-team training, with PSG confirming ‘positive’ discussions have been held between the club and the player.
“Following very constructive and positive discussions between Paris Saint-Germain and Kylian Mbappe before the PSG – Lorient game, the player has been reinstated into the first team training squad this morning,” the statement reads.
Mbappe will take part in a training session with the first-team on Sunday with a view to potentially playing against Toulouse next Saturday.
He hasn’t trained much at PSG as he didn’t take part in the club’s pre-season tour of Asia.
The France international has been the subject of intense transfer speculation, with reports claiming he could join Real on a free transfer next summer.
Of course, PSG are eager to avoid a scenario where he leaves on a free transfer as they would want to receive a fee for their prized asset.
Saudi Arabian outfit Al Hilal tabled a monstrous £259 million bid for Mbappe, but he turned down the chance to ply his trade in the Middle East.
Further reports claim the World Cup winner could be open to renewing his contract at PSG, with Neymar thought to be on the verge of signing a deal with Al Hilal.
