Lionel Messi leaves Selena Gomez, Leonardo DiCaprio and other A-list celebrities in awe during Inter Miami win

Lionel Messi left numerous A-list celebrities in admiration as he served as the inspiration behind another victory for Inter Miami, this time against LAFC in the MLS.

During the summer, Messi made a significant choice to depart European football, leaving French giants Paris Saint-Germain to join MLS team Inter Miami.

Since his arrival in the United States, Messi has played a pivotal role in Inter Miami’s impressive 11-match unbeaten streak.

On Sunday night, Inter Miami took the field in an MLS match against LAFC at the BMO Stadium.

A huge list of celebrities were down to attend the match, including the likes of Prince Harry, LeBron James, Leonardo DiCaprio, Tom Holland and Selena Gomez.

During the match, Gomez was spotted reacting to a passage of play which Messi was in the centre of.

The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner was played through on goal by a brilliant pass from Diego Gomez.

However, Messi’s left-footed shot from close range was wonderfully denied by McCarthy.

Singer/actress Gomez was left stunned as she sat with her eyes wide open.

The match ended in a 3-1 victory for Inter Miami, thanks to goals from Facundo Arias, Jordi Alba and Leonardo Campana. Ryan Hollingshead was the scorer for LAFC.

Despite failing to get on the scoresheet, Messi did produce two assists to help his side clinch the all-important victory.

Ever since Messi signed for Inter Miami, the Argentine has been attracting major interest from every corner of the city.

During the match against LAFC, a pitch invader attempted to approach the former Barcelona star, Lionel Messi. However, Messi’s well-known bodyguard quickly intervened, grabbing the intruder by the neck and removing him from the field.

After the game, Messi remarked, “The group is growing. I’ve been saying it since the beginning of all this; we were fortunate to enter a tournament and reach a final. Now, we aim to achieve our goal of being among the top eight to contend for the league title. This is our path. We continue to progress, and winning certainly boosts our confidence.”

Inter Miami is scheduled to return to MLS action on September 10 when they host Sporting KC at the DRV PNK Stadium.
