Liverpool fans observe an incident involving Jordan Pickford and an official during the Everton vs. Arsenal match

Liverpool fans have observed an incident involving Jordan Pickford and an official during Everton’s Premier League match against Arsenal.

In the match, which took place on Sunday afternoon, Everton sought their first victory of the 2023/24 season as they faced Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal. The first half saw Arsenal dominating play while Everton defended resolutely.

However, Gabriel Martinelli had a goal disallowed after a VAR review deemed Eddie Nketiah to be offside during the build-up. It was during this period that Liverpool fans noticed an incident involving Jordan Pickford and an official.

During the first half, Liverpool fans have spotted an incident between Pickford and an official.

A video appears to show Pickford directing foul language towards a linesman.

According to fans on social media, Pickford said: “You f**king p***k, f**k off!”

This incident has led to Liverpool fans demanding the Football Association take action against Pickford after Reds captain Virgil van Dijk was handed an extra match’s ban for ‘abuse’ towards the official.

One fan said: “Another £100,000 fine and a 1 match ban incoming for Jordan Pickford. Isn’t that right@FA @FA_PGMOL?”

After audio from Van Dijk’s incident was released, it was spotted that the Liverpool defender said ‘f**king joke’ towards the referee.

A statement from the FA read: “Virgil van Dijk has been charged with a breach of FA rule E3.1 following Liverpool’s Premier League game against Newcastle United on Sunday, 27 August.”

At the time, former Premier League referee, Mike Dean, said: “Van Dijk disagreed as he unleashed a verbal volley on fourth official Craig Pawson, which was out of line.

“Depending on what is written in the referee’s report, Van Dijk may find himself in further trouble with the football authorities.”
