Once again, Lisandro Martinez received praise from Manchester United supporters for his handling of a mid-match incident involving Neal Maupay, the Everton striker.
On Saturday afternoon, Everton, led by Sean Dyche, came to Old Trafford looking to widen the gap between them and the relegation zone, while United aimed to capitalize on their 1-0 victory over Brentford earlier in the week.
Thanks to goals by Scott McTominay and Anthony Martial, Erik ten Hag’s squad secured a 2-0 triumph, but it was the confrontation between Martinez and Maupay that caught the attention of United fans.
The video of the incident is available below.

Martinez was speaking to the referee before Maupay tried to drag the Argentine away.
However, the United defender was not having any of it and had some stern words for his opponent.
United fans were quick to react on social media.
One said: “Don’t mess with our Licha.”
Another tweeted: “Martinez is taller than Maupay lol.”
A third fan added: “Love him so much.”
Someone else wrote: “Martinez schooled him.”
Whilst a fifth commented: “Like always, he makes strikers so frustrated.”
Since joining the club in the summer, Martinez has quickly become a favourite amongst the United fanbase due to his no-nonsense style of play.

United have moved up to third place in the Premier League table, surpassing Newcastle, following their crucial victory over Everton.
After the game, Ten Hag encouraged his team to improve their precision in front of goal in future matches.
The manager of Manchester United expressed his desire for the team to display more ruthlessness and clinical finishing during matches. Although they failed to secure a half-time lead against Everton, he praised the team for their overall performance.
The next challenge for Manchester United is a Europa League quarter-final clash against Spanish La Liga team Sevilla, with the first leg set to take place on Thursday evening.
